I have no idea right now how many shows we have done over the last 10 weeks….I think its seven and I don’t want to count them, bec I’ll get the heeby geebbies. From Texas out to….
Washington, Oregon to Ventura California to Nebraska…and Denver twice and whatever else. We have probably had the most successful season ever with championships in Black, Brown, Fawn, Beige and White. We’ve won Gets and Breeders best in nearly all the shows sometimes winning first and second. We’ve won Judges Choice four times. Kahuna was light herdsire of the Year again and Chakotah was reserve dark herdsire of the year at the Futurity. We’ve put ourselves in terrible situations where our lives were not safe like the drive to Nebraska and we’ve had the time of our lives like Monday night when we finally saw our farm in daylight on the drive back from the Nationals and realized its home and there are no more shows! For now!
The Nationals were the best we’ve ever attended for fun, energy and vibe. Well done Scotty Miller and crew. Our best mates Steve and Laura still talk to us despite having gone to most these shows with us and giving us heaps of help. We’ve seen so much of the US country side we never thought we would see and met heaps of breeders that are just as addicted to the ribbon hunt as us. Its been a blur but our dogs and cats are now so happy we’re home at last. And so are we. Its been a blast. Its been trying. Its been successful. Its been financially draining.
Its not often you’ll look forward to shearing 500 alpacas but thats next and I’m loving it!
