The Pucara International Thrive Stud Male Leasing Program
Guidelines:
- Pucara will put together groups of huacaya ,suri and a combinations of huacaya and suri stud males sorted into groups of three alpacas available for any one farm to lease.(the Breeding Group).
- Pucara International (the Lessor) will enter into an agreement with just one farm, (the Lessee). That lessee is free to work in partnerships with other farms. However, the Lessor will contract directly with only one farm.
- The lease agreement is for a period of twelve months from the signing of the agreement. Any farm that enters into a lease after September 15 of any year will enjoy the benefit the breeding group for the entirety of the next calendar year.
- The one time cost for leasing a breeding group is $9,000.
- The breeding group must reside on the lessees farm for the entire period of the lease.
- During the period of the Lease the Lessee is free to sell unlimited breedings to the Breeding Group.
- The Lessor will be paid $100 for each breeding to a female not owned by the Lessee at the time of the breeding, including females that are jointly owned by the Lessee and any other partner(s).
- The Lessee guarantees to exercise all diligence with regard to, shelter, management, husbandry and care of the Breeding Group especially in times of extreme weather.
- The Breeding Group are to be shorn at the lessees expense at the appropriate time of year for the Lessees location.
- The Lessee shall enter into an insurance policy with Wilkins insurance for loss of life and fertility with the Lessor named as the beneficiary.
- All transport to and from Pucara International’s farm in Oregon is at the cost of the lessee.
- The Lessee may purchase the Breeding Group at any time during the lease period and will receive a $4,000 discount from the listed price of the Breeding Group.
- Lessees and their farm will be listed on the Pucara International website. Email campaigns will be delivered promoting the leasing program.
- The Lessor retains the rights to pre-qualify and approve farms applying for the lease arrangement
- The Lessor retains the right to withdraw Breeding Groups from Lessees who are in breach of the lease agreement .
- During the period of the lease the Lessee will be responsible for all costs and expenses relating to the Breeding Group. Specifically once the Breeding Group leave Pucara International’s farm and until their return in good health the Breeding Group shall be in the Lessees safe keeping.
- Each stud male in the Breeding Group shall be examined by a licensed veterinarian appointed by the Lessor. The exam will include fecal and BVDV tests together with any other specific tests required by the Lessees state veterinarian. The Breeding Group is expected to return to the Lessor in a general condition as good as or better than when they left the care of Pucara International . Any costs involved in treating sick males or males in poor condition after their return will be at the lessees expense.
- The Lessee shall provide the Lessor with a list of all on farm and off farm breedings conducted and their state of pregnancy every 3 months.
- The Lessor guarantees the fertility of the stud males in a Breeding Group. If a male is unable to settle females for any reason during the period of the lease then an alternative male shall be provided by the Lessor.
- The lessee will shear the stud males, retain the fleeces for delivery to Pucara International plus submit a fiber sample to Yokum McColl for testing at the lessees cost.
- Any guarantees offered are offered by the lessee to the client and the lessor is in no way liable for any such guarantees.
- Lessees may lease the stud group for the same cost for a second 12 month period, however, if they elect to do so the same criteria apply above except if they choose to buy the male Stud group they will get a further $2,000, in effect having a $7,000 discount on the cost of purchasing the males outright.
- If any or more of the stud males in a Stud group are sold by Pucara International during a lease period the lessee have use of those males for the entire lease period. That sale will be offered to the lessee at the time of sale at which time they have 48 hours to match the sale less their Stud group discount. If they do match the sale price they will get priority over the other potential buyers.
The Breeding Groups will be organized by Pucara International as follows:
Huacaya: This Breeding Group comprises three stud males, only one stud male from each color group is selected. Color groups consist of White, Beige, Fawn, Brown and Black. The Black group consists of Bay Blacks, Blacks and a Gray. These groups are preselected by Pucara International.
Suri: The "Breeding group" for suris can be from one to three suri working males. They are listed as individuals and more will be added as they mature. One suri will cost $5,000. Each male will cost $3000 in groups of two and three.
Huacaya and Suri: This Breeding group of three stud males will be selected by Pucara International depending on whether the lessee requires one or two stud males from each breed. Selection will be available from different color groups depending on availability
