TESTIMONIAL
" Thankyou again for one of the most memorable times of my life. The seminar has forever changed
how we will run our alpaca business and our breeding program. I only wish I had done this ten years ago....
I mean I could go on for a bit about how valuable our weekend at Pucara was to me. Can’t thank you enough.
I feel better every day about our farm and our alpaca industry – now that
I have new eyes to see it all through. "

Alan Cousill and Jude Anderson are the Australian owners of Pucara International. Their 103 acre facility in Oregon is the home of huacaya and suri selected and bred with experience both from farming alpacas in Australia since 1991. The suri herd is based on the exceptional US genetics Pucara used to dominate the Australian suri show scene . The huacaya are based on elite genetics that have been sourced from all over the US .
The mission statement for Pucara International is to provide US alpaca breeders with discerningly bred alpacas that represent genetics from prepotent breeding lines. It is also the aim of Al and Jude to help new and existing breeders through the Pucara International seminars and Alpaca Thrive Program to improve their alpaca herds and business.
For that purpose Pucara has assembled a stable of alpaca herdsires , some which they own, and others that they campaign on behalf of other breeders, that represent the very best in the country. These boys are also available for mobile matings. It is Pucara’s belief that the success of their clients is Pucara’s success. To that end Alan and Jude go out of their way to help.
Jude, as many of you know, has a passion for judging alpacas. Her expertise both as a wool classer and alpaca judge will be available on a consultancy basis. She has judged the National Shows of both Australia and the US .
Both Jude and Alan will be presenting seminars and workshops on the farm. Subjects such as selection, breeding strategy, understanding genetics, show preparation, marketing and getting started basics will be available.
Most importantly Jude and Alan want their clients to have fun farming alpacas. And ultimately that means success. “It’s pretty hard to enjoy yourself if you’re not making money” says Alan. They believe success and fun are a direct result of knowledge.
