2006:

PUCARA PRIMO

It was only his first breeding season in the US and Kahuna produced a show winner with just the first male cria he had in the US. Pucara Primo, a handsome young son, has took second in a very strong class of 22 at the Del Mar IAO Odyssey, juvei white males 2006. We love those International rules where every alpaca is in the one class.

He followed up with a first at the AWE 2006 show in a strong class again.

The following weekend at the 2006 FUTURITY he created a real headache for Senior Judge Mike Safley. In the strongest suri class he says he has ever witnessed Mike gave Primo second saying on any other day the result may have be swapped.

AND NOW!!!! He's a National Champion. Just three days into the yearling class of white suri males Primo took first and went onto win the Suri White Male Reserve Championship. He took reserve to a three year old and beat over 100 other white male suris to get Reserve. The judge Mike Safley said it was the strongest classes of white suris he has seen any where in the world. We're stoked as are Kevin and Nancy from SugarLoaf Alpacas in Maryland who purchased him this year.

So we anxiously wait for the 23 babies we have due this year to Kahuna. Judging by last years small drop its going to be exciting.

2007 update:

Pucara Kahuna cria have shown really strongly in three shows so far in 2007. At the IAO, AWE and Futurity they have won championships, blues and lots of ribbon. His cria have won the two Get of Sire classes they have been shown in. We are stoked!

The Kahuna kids went on to rip at the Nationals as well! we're more than stoked!!!

2008 update:

We are pleased as punch. The Kahuna kids creamed it! They swept their production classses at the Nationals and did very well winning Championships in halter. To top it off, Kahuna won Reserve Herdsire of the Year at the Futurity.
